The Understudies Adventure!

Hello My Darlings!

Well my understudy is on an adventure today.

As field mice are hard to come by these days, we have to compromise.
I have it all planned, a trip to the Pet Store where gourmet delights can be had!

Come to me MY DARLING (mouse replies....babio I'm on steriods)
(Eyes with excitement)  Lip smacking, nose twitching, whisker wobbling enough to make a girl dizzy with anticipation!

Here is the Menu:
1) Duck, chicken, fish all organic of course:
2) Greenies (fish, chicken or salmon) for keeping my teeth beautiful;
3) A brush for my masseuse to keep my coat in runway style and magnificence;
4) Moist food organic;
5) Catnip mouse to tease and make them jump through gymnastic hoops:
6) Anything else that looks tasty.

 Well, its been a while..(haughty smile) the understudy is taking her time...WHERE IS SHE?
I hope she hasn't met a good looking Divo on the way (sigh). Yawn, I might as well have a  DIVA snooze.

Waiting for the Food
Mouse tries bungee jumping to escape!

 My understudy did a marvellous job and I'm about dig in and enjoy!

 Always do the 'sniff' test before you devour your spoils!

A little Tête à tête means literally 'head to head'.
Stage left: the cat and mouse game begins  (rubbing paws together and licking lips)!
MY Catch

Then I shall enjoy a brush................my mouth salivating, with beads of watered jewels nestling on my whiskers .

Understudy received her queues from ME:

 Understudies are great: 1) they TAKE DIRECTION well 2) they don't argue (as they know what is BEST FOR THEM).  3) they are EASY TO TRAIN and generally well behaved (lol).

Capturing The Moment!

  • Hello My Darlings!
As I was lounging here on a Sunday, catching some well deserved MUSE time.  I started pondering about the expression "Capturing The Moment"....
Dancing of Sugar Mice In MY Sleep

Decisive Moment - Ah Fresh Butter!
well of course what else would "I" be thinking about dear readers:  Food, Mice, Birds and anything that would be in my reach or better yet MY MOUTH.    Now, now WHO IS the shutter-bug with the camera? "Capturing The Moment Indeed"...well excuse me!

The expression conjures up many a metaphor (yes I play around with those too including field mice): 1) Food 2) Hunting 3) Camera

Diva Ness and Divo Toulouse Chilling
 4) Painting 5) Writing: dabbling in the MUSE (my favorite).  MY human found this for me: 'Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: "What! You, too? Thought I was the only one." .    It really is all about Carpe Diem all Divas and Divos know about this.   The best way is to simply 'be' and enjoy the moment with friends!
Diva Sings "Circle of Friendship Aria"

"Circle of Friendship: We look upon one another when we have the need to share. And find the joy of friendship grow each time we show our care"    Doesn't that make you PURR!

So find your PURFECT friend and capture the momento.

Three Divas and El Divo
So Darlings.......GO...grab your 'best buddies .......have a SMASHING good time!

YOU Say Salad With THAT?

Hello My Darlings!

Congratulations on making it to the weekend - LOL!

Some of my seasoned readers, will know the reason of such a statement (raising eye brows ...chuckling with mirth).

Walking On The Wild Side

Salad you say: My sources (Internet and human) tell me that Spider Plants are 'non-toxic' for feline and canines. Favoured to be slightly hallucinogenic for cats. Lucky us! (Oh dear ---Paw on head trying to block memory ouch...).    Stick with Spider Pants!

Darlings REMEMBER***:  Don't eat the grass at the park! Pesticides are very harmful to us and should be avoided at ALL costs. Remind your owners to check your mouth and paws (dogs eat anything)!

Chlorophytum Comosum
Spider Plant

SPIDERS PLANTS 101

1) Taste good satisfy my chewing need;
2) The baby plants are sweet and tender;
3) Provide (slightly hallucinogenic) stimulating exercise (especially with a friend during nocturne hours);
Temptation as MY GIFT
= MY JUST DESSERT!!!
4) Aids in digestion or for fur ball help and breath cleanser (embarrassed);

5) A good source of Salad;
6) Pots made adequate trapeze practice

Well YOU left the plant there?

It was MY Understudy!

Theatre talk
I always get the LAST LAUGH!
Break A Leg: means  "Good Luck;  or  "quasso cruris," the Latin equivalent of "break a leg." Some etymologists believe it to be an adaptation from the Yiddish translation into German. The phrase "Hatsloche un Broche" (הצלחה און ברכה) ("success and blessing") had been calqued from the German phrase "Hals- und Beinbruch" ("neck and leg fracture"), because of near similar pronunciation

Well my Darlings, have fun and "Break A Leg" I'm off to fine a plant to eat.......................

Design YOUR DIVA DAY

Hello My Darlings!  Well how are you!  I am my gorgeous self - simply purfect.

(Sipping slowing on my mug of milk ponders....)

Today is DIVA DAY I've decided to take a ME day and why not.    The to do list has been given my servant while I take off.

ME days are very crucial for the DIVA
1) It qualifies WHO and WHAT they are;
2) There are NO limits to what WE CAN DO;
3) Diva activities include: Fine dining, quaffing of wine, retail shopping and motoring in town or around the country. Perhaps a little theatre too.
4) ME days enable felines to be in touch with our DIVA soul (artistically where we create and find most PURFECT self dabbling in the MUSE);
5) Every DIVA needs to escape from HUMANS.
This DIVA has got it RIGHT!
5) Call your DIVA friends and GO!

So does my friend Toulouse Toulouse the Cool Cat

Cats Prime Directive - Bugle Call 101

Audition Photo 2011
Hello My Darlings!

To my adoring fans, it's great to be back to the land of the living (after my recent escapades- phew).
Walking On The Wild Side - Feb 21 2012

Humans are stubborn species even at the best of times, especially in the morning when I want MY breakfast!

Eggs - protein for ME

 They don't seem to have any sense of time - what is that. Don't they know I run a tight ship? As a result I have devised and modified my prime directive accordingly (CONTROL HUMANS).

PAY ATTENTION!
Take yesterday morning for example (sigh - farrowed eyes).  My human was sleeping soundly, (and should have been up, the sun was up so why wasn't she)?  I used the two syllable  tone of "ummph, ummph, ummph"..this usually gets a response.   With other high octave meows.

 Revealing my LOCH NESS pose, I screamed in her ear bellowing out a full Aria resulting in my trump card:   A BUGLE.

Bugle Blast 101

Remember:  The Prime Directive at all times-CONTROL YOUR HUMANS they ARE YOUR SERVANTS. Resistance is FUTILE.

:) This worked well in my favor as I had my human eating out of my hand all day LOL

Ciao until next time -

Walking On The Wild Side

Hello My Darlings!

My human subject is writing this on my behalf....you'll see why as you read on................

Well dear readers, it was 'quite the happening party'
as I celebrated Family Day with my friends and family.

Of course as gathering and parties goo, it was VERY innocent quite civilized amongst our artistic crowd!  We enjoy the gastronomic delights and a guest brought me Catnip ....it has been a while since I had smelt the delicious aroma of teasing minty fragrance.  Like a fine wine, the finer the ingredients the better.

Definition:  Walking-on-the-wild side.   This is what one human said " It means they are living dangerously, or on the wild side. Because at any given time, the glass may crack and they all fall"

Nepeta Catnip

Here is the scoop:

Nepeta cataria (and cat mints) are mostly known for the behavioral effects they have on  felines, not only on   domestic cats. also big cats."The bigger they are the harder they fall -- LOL". Nepeta Catnip is used as a recreational substance for cat nip ( Read the warning label : don't chase mice while imbibing) and catnip and laced-catnip products designed for use with domesticated cats are available to consumers. Not all cats are affected by catnip. The common behaviors when cats sense the bruised leaves or stems of catnip are rubbing on the plant, rolling on the ground, pawing at it, licking it, chewing it, salivating....................
Pharmacology: Nepetalactone acts as a feline attractant. Roughly half to two thirds of cats will be affected by the plant.  This chemical enters the felines nose. Cats detect it through their olfactory epithelium.The phenomenon is hereditary; for example, most Australian cats do not react to it.  Humans are not removed either from being affected. Catnip has a history of human medicinal use for its soothing properties. It has also been known to have a slightly numbing effect. The plant has been consumed as a tea, juice, tincture, infusion or poultice, and has also been smoked.

PHOTO GALLERY -- Caught in the Act!

Oh my.....

I can bite through this...yes, yes!
A picture has a thousand faces
Every Diva has a Super Hero!

Momma I've got the SPINS! HELP
consuming much of the plant followed by drooling, sleepiness, anxiety, leaping about and purring. Some will growl and meow, scratch, or bite the hand holding it. Some cats will eat dried catnip. Often, eating too much can cause cats to be overtly aggressive, typically making them hiss.

 Hint:  REMEMBER Darlings, my advice.......
...if you are going  to walk-the-wild side..you'd better
be prepared for the consequences  good and bad.

Consumer catnip RESPONSIBLY .     I'm sure the ride was worth it...........
.......I'll let you know in a couple of days!
